This school year has been such a gift and I am fortunate to spend this year as a 2nd grade teacher at Sacred Heart. I look forward to teaching the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion this year. I can't imagine anything more special as a teacher than witnessing my students receive Jesus Christ for the first time!
This year, my class researched and chose my favorite saint, Saint Imelda Lambertini, to represent our class! She devoted her childhood to being a true follower and example of Christ, always striving to receive her 1st Holy Communion. In the 1330's, children did not receive their 1st Holy Communion until the age of 14. But on May 12, 1333, at the age of 11, Imelda was found in prayer with the "Light of the Host" above her head. Imelda's priest felt the need to offer Imelda her 1st Holy Communion. Moments after receiving her 1st Holy Communion, Imelda knelt in prayer, and was found dead. Imelda passed with a heart full of joy and went to be with Jesus after receiving her 1st Holy Communion.
I have been in education for 16 years! I have previously taught 1st and 3rd grade at Saint Theodore in Flint Hill and William Cappel Elementary in Moscow Mills. I have a busy family that truly enjoys anything outdoors! My husband, Jason, and sons, Will (6th grade) and Brooks (2nd grade), spend our time fishing at Mark Twain Lake and Truman Lake, hunting at our family farm in Higbee, MO, and playing baseball for the Midwest Rebels and Sugarfire Fury!
We are blessed to call Sacred Heart our home away from home!
