Meet the Pre-School Director

Mrs. Melissa Gildehaus

Gratefully, I have been a valued member of the Sacred School staff for 16 wonderful years. While much of my time was dedicated to teaching kindergarten, I recently embraced the Director of Early Childhood Education and Learning role. This pivotal position involves overseeing our Preschool as the primary director and actively engaging with students and teachers in grades K-2, focusing on testing and learning plans. Drawing from 25 years of diverse experience, I have been a facilitator in the Parents as Teachers Program, taught pre-kindergarten in the Washington Public Schools District, and contributed to kindergarten education in both the Warrenton and Troy Public School Districts.

My commitment to working with young children is deeply rooted in my heart and soul, evident through my extensive professional journey. Transitioning into a Catholic school setting has added a profoundly rewarding dimension to my educational career. Infusing Jesus' words and examples into the lives of young children has been a revelation, enriching my teaching in ways I hadn't anticipated until I was given the opportunity.

Family holds paramount importance in my life. My three boys, proud graduates of Sacred Heart, stand as a testament to the dedication my husband and I have invested in raising our family. Various Saints have guided my family life throughout the years, and Mother Teresa currently resonates with me. A quote in my office echoes her wisdom: "If you want to change the world, go home and love your family." This simple yet profound statement reflects my belief in the transformative power of love within a family.

Sacred Heart is not just a workplace but a school family where

I am committed to utilizing all my talents to help it grow and flourish.
